Prior to any discharge order being signed, the attending physician must complete the F.E.C.E.S. review, confirming:
- One (1) documented fecal event — verified by licensed staff who personally observed feces
- One (1) documented anal release of wind — verified and logged in W.I.N.D. database
- Fecal Output Log is complete, signed, and dated
- Flatulence Verification Checklist is complete
- Patient has been informed they may now leave: "Your feces have arrived. Your wind has passed. You are free to go."
